Two New York state universities evacuated parts of their campuses today after receiving bomb threats inside several buildings.
The Columbia Spectator reported in a series of tweets, "Cornell University in Ithaca asked students, staff and visitors to leave some university buildings and avoid the central campus after local police received a phone warning of bombs being placed in those buildings.
The newspaper said that Columbia University in New York City, which includes 31,000 students, also evacuated three buildings after receiving warnings of the presence of bombs.
The newspaper added that the university advises people to stay away from those buildings until further notice.
