Violence that occurred on Saturday and Sunday evenings in the Val-d'Argent district in Argenteuil (Val-d'Oise) resulted in two arrests, including that of a minor injured in the nose by a shot from a defense bullet launcher (LBD), AFP learned Monday (November 8) from police sources.
Police officers intervened late Saturday afternoon on the Argenteuil slab following a report of mortar fire, they reported to AFP.

About twenty individuals
" targeted them with fireworks, to which they responded with tear gas and LBD fire, said one of these sources.
In this group, a 14-year-old teenager was injured by an LBD shot and has a broken nose, the same source added, adding that he was arrested as he fled.
He was due to be operated on Monday at Necker hospital in Paris, AFP learned from another police source.

The minor was "
formally identified as the author of mortar fire against the police
," said the prefecture of Val-d'Oise in a statement.
During the night from Sunday to Monday, fireworks mortars were again reported in the Val-d'Argent district and garbage cans set on fire.
Police forces have dispersed a crowd.
Calm returned shortly after 11:30 p.m., a police source added.
In order to "
secure the evenings and nights to come
", 150 police officers will be deployed in the district, announced the prefecture.
