After the unsuccessful second collective bargaining round in the public service of the federal states, the service union Verdi has called for a one-day warning strike at several university hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia.
On this Tuesday, the employees of the clinics in Essen, Düsseldorf and Cologne are supposed to go out of work, sometimes all day.
Düsseldorf - the next day the clinics in Bonn and Münster follow, as Verdi announced on Monday.
The union expects a total of around 1,500 participants in the five houses.
For the duration of the strike measures in the middle of the corona pandemic, emergency service agreements had been made with the clinics, it said.
“The refusal of employers rightly makes employees angry.
Not submitting an offer to us and at the same time wiping all of our demands off the table with a simple "No" testifies to a lack of appreciation, ”said Verdi Country Manager Gabriele Schmidt.
"Also and especially in the health sector, all areas have been doing incredible things every day, and not just since the beginning of the pandemic."

The second round of negotiations for the approximately 1.1 million collective bargaining employees and almost 50,000 trainees in the public service of the federal states (except Hesse) ended last week with no result.
