District - The 3G plus rule, which has been in force since last Thursday, poses new challenges for hairdressers and other body-hugging service professions.

The guild fears further sales losses and more illegal work.

Firstly, the introduction was carried out too quickly because customers with an antigen test would have had to be turned away.

Secondly, another drop in sales is to be expected, and thirdly, this regulation would open the door even further to undeclared work - the hairdressers agree on that.

However, they all show understanding for more stringent measures.

"Nobody will do a PCR test for a visit to the hairdresser that costs 70 to 90 euros," believes Veronika Gaigl, master hairdresser and deputy guild chief.

They estimate that 90 percent of their customers have been vaccinated, but the remaining ten percent will - again - disappear in the future.

The hairdressing trade has only been back on track for a few weeks.

3G-plus would further reduce sales, which had fallen by 30 to 40 percent since the second lockdown.

Quite a few customers did not come back.

Since then, men with uncomplicated hairstyles have had their hair cut by their women.

She has lost other customers to colleagues who have been working illegally since the corona pandemic.

"And often without a mask, of course, let alone a hygiene concept."

Master hairdresser Christa Scholz from the hairdressing salon of the same name in Taufkirchen has the same experience.

"I - like every other colleague - have of course lost sales." Just because of illness and quarantine, there would be gaps in the appointment calendar that often could not be filled in a hurry.

However, she is not entirely against 3G-plus, because after all, this measure gives her, for the most part vaccinated, customers and employees a "certain security".

Most of them are very understanding.

However, the businesswoman also fears that undeclared work will intensify.

"I've also seen people in lockdown while shopping with hair that should be longer after two months."

Caroline Baumann, managing director of the Blickfang cosmetic studio in Erding, has also missed around 15 percent of customers since the pandemic - a number that will now increase further with the 3G plus rule.

“Who does a PCR test for a cosmetic treatment, a luxury that you can do without?” Baumann is happy about the many regular customers and hopes that they will remain loyal to her.

Because: "Most of them are vaccinated and show understanding that the certificates have to be checked."

You could live with the tightening yourself.

"What should you do when the clinics reach their limit again?"
