31 Indonesian students leave for Syria to complete their studies

Jakarta, SANA- The Indonesian Levant Alumni Association has announced that 31 of its students will be sent to Syria to complete their studies.

The Indonesian Levant Alumni Association announced sending 31 of its students to Syria to complete their studies in its institutes.

According to the Indonesian Antara Agency, the head of the association, Ahmed Fater Hanbali, expressed during the students' farewell his great gratitude and thanks to the Syrian government for the confidence it had given to the association in the process of selecting qualified students to continue their education in Syria.

Hanbali pointed out that 62 students were sent to study at the International Sham Institute and Sheikh Ahmed Kaftaro Complex this year.

For his part, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Jakarta, Abdel Moneim Annan, referred to the distortions that the Islamic religion is subjected to by terrorist groups operatives of Western intelligence with the aim of destroying Islamic countries, pointing in this regard to the course of events in Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, and recently Libya, Syria and other countries.

Annan called to be aware of the seditions and dark ideas being plotted against Islam, and the need to confront them with awareness and knowledge, pointing out that the terrorists only inflicted destruction on Islamic countries and did not ever target the Zionist enemy or the United States because they are working to serve the Israeli and American agenda.

For his part, Director General of Islamic Education at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs pointed out that Indonesia is a diverse country and is striving to preserve its diversity and traditions.

The farewell ceremony was attended by the students, in addition to the Chargé d'Affairs of the Syrian Embassy, ​​the embassy's official in charge of consular affairs, Nahed Muhairi, the Inspector General of the Anti-Terrorism Unit of the Indonesian Police, Major General Martinos Hokum, the Director of the Department of Islamic Education Affairs at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, and a number of Indonesian officials.
