Al-Midan Police Department arrested a group of people who committed theft and robbery crimes in Damascus.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that after receiving information about unknown persons carrying out theft operations in the Al-Midan area and as a result of the tireless efforts exerted to search for them, the Al-Midan Police Department, in a tight ambush, arrested six people.
The ministry indicated that the detainees confessed, during their interrogation, to stealing a number of cars and kiosks within the city of Damascus, more than 15 motorcycles and sums of money, and they disposed part of the stolen goods, and one of them admitted to stealing a military pistol from a car.
The ministry confirmed the recovery of the pistol and two cars, a Hyundai H1 van and a closed Shanna pickup, noting that investigations are still ongoing with them and they will be brought to the duly competent judiciary.
