The Directorate of Agriculture in As-Suwayda Governorate has adopted a plan to plant more than 28 thousand dunums of fodder crops for the current season in the governorate.
The Assistant Director of Agriculture in As-Suwayda, Engineer Alaa Shehayeb, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the plan is distributed by 14,170 dunums for the jilbana, 10,940 dunums for the carnation, and 3,680 dunams for the vetch, which is implemented by rainwater.
Shehayeb pointed out that the cultivation of fodder crops is concentrated in the regions of Shahba and Western Sweida, and will start during the next month.
The total areas planted with fodder crops in As-Suwayda last season amounted to 24,560 dunums, while production exceeded 210 tons.
