The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced that it had not received any notification or invitation from Poland to monitor its deployment of 10,000 soldiers near the common border between the two countries.
“The deployment of 10,000 Polish soldiers on the Polish-Belarus border, as announced by the Polish Defense Minister, is an important and remarkable military activity,” the ministry said in a statement today, Sputnik reported, adding that “the implementation of this activity without notifying the Belarusian side is a violation of additional bilateral agreements on regional confidence.” and security measures.
The ministry indicated that these agreements provide for notifying and inviting observers of military activities from both sides in operations in which 6,000 soldiers or more are participating.
Poland is deploying thousands of its soldiers on the border with Belarus under the pretext of confronting the flow of migrants to its territory towards European countries.
