Similar to other municipalities in the region, Bichl has now also decided to increase the tax on second homes.

- Currently, the tax rate for owners of a second home is eleven percent of the net rent of the corresponding home.
Since most of the surrounding municipalities now also demand higher rates, the Bichler municipal councils presented a proposal in their most recent meeting to increase the fee for the currently 18 taxable second homes in the municipality.
“It's not about generating more income,” emphasized Mayor Benedikt Pössenbacher: “Our goal should be to use this measure to bring more living space back to the general housing market.” According to the administration's proposal, the second home tax should start on January 1st next year will be increased to 20 percent of the net rent.
After a brief discussion, the council unanimously agreed to this proposal.
