While Hong Kong and the Mainland are discussing customs clearance, the Centre for Health Protection announced last night (9th) that it is investigating four preliminarily confirmed imported cases, all of which were discovered after returning residents entered the community.

The Food and Health Bureau issued a mandatory test announcement early this morning (10th). In response to related cases, 29 places have been included in the mandatory test announcement, including McDonald’s at Admiralty Admiralty Centre, Central Pier 3 and Discovery Bay Pier, Tseung Kwan O Butterworth Park, H&M and Din Tai Fung in Newport Center, Tsim Sha Tsui, multiple restaurants in Harbour City, K11 Art Mall, Ocean Park, etc.; Tsim Sha Tsui is a "severe disaster", occupying 12 places, followed by Discovery Bay on Lantau Island.

Two of the cases involved two male patients aged 29 and 57, living in a detached house in Kai Yu, Tsim Sha Tsui and Wei Yang in Discovery Bay respectively, and were crew members of a Cathay Pacific cargo plane.

The two patients tested negative at the airport when they arrived in Hong Kong from Germany. They were subsequently sampled at community testing centers and sampling stations. The results were preliminary positive.

Among them, the 29-year-old crew member has a very high viral load and has a mutated virus strain, which is more contagious and has a higher risk of infection. The government tonight announced restrictions and tests on Kaiyu, Tsim Sha Tsui, where he lives, and has arranged for the 57-year-old patient to live independently. Residents in the housing estate are subject to quarantine.
