The Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief, discussed with the resident representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Syria, Dr. Iyad Nasr, mechanisms for developing cooperation between the two sides in the fields of alternative energies and the environment.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the projects implemented by the fund in a number of regions and the projects that can be implemented and conform to national standards, which will reflect positively on the services provided to citizens.
Minister Makhlouf stressed the need to work to expand the projects and activities that are agreed upon jointly between institutions and government agencies and to involve the local community in selecting projects that meet its requirements according to priorities.
For his part, Nasr expressed his hope to deepen cooperation to achieve the requirements of sustainable development and build capacity at this stage for all Syrians by working in accordance with the national vision and in line with the requirements of government agencies and the local community.
