The two power companies announced today that starting from January next year, the CLP’s charge per kilowatt-hour will be increased to 128.9 cents, an increase of 5.8%; the HEC will charge 135.3 cents per kilowatt-hour, an increase of 7%.
Both power companies have frozen their basic electricity tariffs, but due to rising international fuel prices and rising fuel costs, the fuel tariffs of CLP and HEC have soared by approximately 37.4% and 57% respectively.
