The people of Eichenau can decide to conclude a fiber optic contract until December 18th.

Eichenau - Actually, the deadline should only have run until the end of October. However, the quota of 40 percent of households required by Deutsche Glasfaser, which would be necessary for the company's economic operation, had not been achieved by then. CSU councilor Peter Zeiler had taken the extension of the deadline as an opportunity to launch an appeal in the social networks: “Talk to neighbors, friends and acquaintances so that Eichenau is digitally equipped for the future,” it said on Zeiler's Facebook page. There it was also noted that so far around 1,300 households in town have decided to sign a contract. That is just under 25 percent.
In April, the community signed a cooperation agreement with Deutsche Glasfaser and promised support.
This was not only done through a generously authorized billposting campaign.
It was also about finding suitable locations for so-called “Points of Presence” (PoP).
These are the dial-in nodes for telephone and online connections as well as the further connection to the house connections.
The green space between Aldi and the cemetery parking lot and a location on the corner of Olchinger and Allinger Straße next to the recycling center were found to be suitable.
The municipal council authorized the administration to conclude the necessary lease agreements.
