Ifo study: Retailers expect delivery problems until summer - many items are becoming more expensive

German retailers expect delivery problems well into the summer.

This is shown by a survey by the Munich Ifo Institute.

Munich - "The product selection will be limited at Christmas and long after," said Klaus Wohlrabe, head of the ifo surveys *.

According to the ifo *, the delivery problems will also be reflected in the prices in the Christmas business.

A majority of the companies have therefore announced price increases.

The most pessimistic are the bicycle dealers, who expect supply problems into the year after next.

The furniture dealers expect delivery difficulties for a good year, the toy retailers expect around eleven months and the hardware stores over ten months.

There are also delivery problems in the food retail sector, but companies expect the situation to ease again in the course of spring.
