This Tuesday, a large part of the political class met in Colombey-les-Deux-Églises to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the General's death.
In this small village of Haute-Marne made famous for having been chosen as a second place of residence by the General, the inhabitants are used to seeing various public figures flocking in every November 9.
But in this presidential pre-campaign, where many candidates claim to be De Gaulle, the day has taken on the appearance of a parade.
“This year, they're all here.
Even the socialists claim to be part of the General.
It's a shame… ”
exclaims Alain Bardon, a retired doctor who comes every year to pay tribute to the former President of the Republic.
