The global food delivery company "Walt" will be sold for $ 8.1 billion to the largest food delivery company in the USA, "Dordash", Volt decided last night (Tuesday). The acquisition itself is expected to take place in the second half of next year.
The acquisition is part of a Dordash move in which it plans to expand its operations to the rest of the world.
Walt, which originates in Finland, has about 4,000 employees in 23 countries, and according to data provided last January, it has more than 10 million customers.

Since the announcement of the decision, Dordash shares, which as part of the agreement will be managed by Walt founder Mickey Cossi, have risen more than 11% on the stock exchange.
The company reported losing $ 101 million, a much higher amount than the $ 43 million it reported losing in the same quarter in 2020.
Like many shipping companies, since the outbreak of the corona plague in the world, Dordash has benefited greatly from closures and the transition to staying at home a lot, by significantly increasing the number of orders placed through it.
However, the company said that the number of new customers registered with it in the last quarter is lower than the records recorded in the corresponding quarter of last year, but that the numbers are still higher than those of 2019 and previous years.
