Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov blamed Western countries for the refugee and migration crisis in many regions of the world, especially Europe.
After a meeting with the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with Countries, Bishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Lavrov said: “We must not forget that the migration crisis started from the policy pursued by Western countries, including NATO and the European Union, for many years, especially the policy towards the Middle East, which tried to impose life on them. According to Western models.
"The main responsibility for resolving the migrant crisis, especially on the Belarusian-Polish border and the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, now lies with those who created the conditions for the outbreak of this crisis," Lavrov added.
Lavrov called on Western countries to avoid double methods in dealing with refugees and resolve the situation in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law.
