The ICAC alleges that the three persons were suspected of violating Article 27A of the Election Ordinance, "during the election period to incitement another person not to vote or cast invalid votes", and reprinted a post on the Internet calling on the public to vote in vain in the Legislative Council election.

The ICAC seized several mobile phones during the operation, and all the arrested persons have been released on bail pending further investigation.
