Mindelheim - Although Mayor Dr. Stephan Winter spoke at the general meeting of the Frundsberg Festring in the forum of an "extremely difficult decision for next year", fans, patrons and countless participants of the Frundsbergfest can have great hopes: The Festring wants to be on the planned date from July 24th to July 3rd Record in 2022. There is a change in the board of directors.

"The year 2020 was a complete failure," regretted Mayor Winter in his short address. He assessed positively that all the groups of the Festring would now scratch their hooves again after the cancellation of Carnival and Frundsbergfest - which is also noticeable with constant knocking on his office door: Durahaufa asked about the town hall tower, Mindelonia about the carnival parade and the Festring is in exchange for the Frundsberg Festival, says Winter. What impressed the town hall chief: "Everyone is keen to keep history alive and to carry customs into the future." Winter particularly praised the board of directors around First Chairman Norbert Sliwockyj, who kept the association together even in the uneventful Corona period and for the care Connection to the twin town Sansepolcro.

The chairman's review was somewhat sparse this time due to the corona: Sliwockyj briefly spoke about the cancellation of the Frundsberg Festival in 2021. In retrospect, this was "the only correct decision, even if it was extremely difficult for us". While the association's activities have so far been limited to organizational matters such as the modernization of the website, Sliwockyj was able to remember a few highlights from the second half of the year: In July, the beggars' money from the 2018 festival was given as a donation for the renovation of the Jesuit crib. More than 3,000 euros were collected here. A guest performance in Sansepolcro then followed for a delegation of the festival ring in September when they met for a working session of the "Cherish" project. What is it about? Together with seven other partners, the Festring promotes the preservation of intangible cultural heritage - among other things, traditions such as flag waving or archery and crossbow shooting are to be continued.

Furthermore, a conference of the ARGE of historical children's and local festivals took place just a few weeks ago.

The ARGE recently made important agreements that will save the Frundsberg Festival a lot of money and work in the future, the first chairman reported.

Sliwockyj was able to attest a "very high continuity" to his association when looking at the membership development: within the almost two years of Corona, the Festring recorded 99 withdrawals (including 16 deaths), but there are also 70 new members.

The reports of the departments then unfortunately had to be omitted without replacement.

The reason: "Nothing happened that was worth mentioning," said the chairman.

So treasurer Josef Wegscheider came to speak of the financial situation: Here too, the pandemic had made itself felt, because an increase of 221,000 euros in the Frundsberg festival year 2018 was followed by two lean years in 2019 (-56,000 euros) and 2020 (-39,000 euros).

According to Wegscheider, the fact that the 2020 Corona year, in which almost all events were canceled, is due to funding for the “Cherish” project, which was paid out early.

“Acceptable framework” for the Frundsbergfest 2022

The Festring has also already made the first payments for the Frundsbergfest 2022, because, as mentioned at the beginning, the board is planning the event next summer despite the currently high corona figures - "limited, but within an acceptable framework," as Sliwockyj said. Although there are currently some unanswered organizational and legal questions, the first chairman already gave an outlook for 2022: a new Frundsberg warehouse at Untere Tor has already been set. The Frundsberg riflemen, who can no longer use their warehouse on Maximilianstrasse, will in future be based in the sculpture garden by the underground car park. And: As of now, the moving route should be planned like last time, since Frundsbergstrasse cannot be closed. Meanwhile, Slivocky emphasizedhe thinks the old route is more beautiful and wants to go back to the federal autobahn maintenance office, whose decision is subject to here.

The election of the board, headed by Niklas Spies, resulted in hardly any surprises in the end: Sliwockyj, Wegscheider and secretary Doris Kawan were all confirmed in office with a large majority.

Frundsberg actor Wolfgang Streitel was newly elected as second chairman - from now on he replaces Roland Ahne, who thanked for the cooperation and, like the outgoing assessor Brigitte Adelmann, wants to continue to “support the Festring with words and deeds”.

The assessors Constanze Laeverenz, Ulrike Spies, Thomas Schnabel, Florian Kastenmeier, Sebastian Meier and Benjamin Wagner as well as the two auditors Thomas Weinzierl and Michael Kasnitz were also pleased about a confirming vote of the members.
