Minister responds evasively to question about resignation

Brandenburg's Minister of Health Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) responded evasively to the question of resignation in view of the cabinet discussion about the mask requirement in primary schools.

After a journalist asked whether she would rule out a resignation in view of the contradictions within the cabinet, she first waited a few seconds and then said:

Potsdam - "I get into big problems, I have to say what I can reconcile with my medical conscience and that goes very clearly into a recommendation that a mask is mandatory again in elementary schools."

Fatal accident at Eschborn marathon: steward run over

There was a fatal incident on the edge of a half marathon in Eschborn (Main-Taunus-Kreis).

An 88-year-old driver ran over a steward on Sunday who had previously made him aware of a road closure for the run, the police reported.

He probably overlooked the woman when turning.

The woman working as a marshal died at the scene of the accident.

Accident with a truck on the A10 at Dreieck Werder: One injured

After a truck accident, Autobahn 10 is closed to the north.

According to the first findings of the police, the truck was driving towards Dreieck Werder early on Monday morning, when the driver lost control of the vehicle for an as yet unexplained cause.

It broke through the guardrail and overturned on the opposite lane.

The truck had loaded charcoal, which was spread over the road, as a police spokesman announced on Monday.

She emphasized: "I think that the impression should not have arisen here either that this has been rejected, that Brandenburg is not introducing it." However, details still need to be clarified.

Nonnemacher was concerned about the sharp rise in the number of infections among children and adolescents in some districts.

Education Minister Britta Ernst (SPD), however, has concerns about the reintroduction of the mask requirement.
