Miesbach - The plan for the new construction of the Schopfgrabenbrücke in Miesbach is ready.

But there is still a lot of tension.

“We can't avoid it.” Around a year ago, Jürgen Brückner from the civil engineering department told the Miesbach city councilors that the Schopfgrabenbrücke urgently needed to be replaced.

In the most recent meeting of the committee, the plans for the inevitable new bridge, as Brückner called it, were explained in detail.

The civil engineering technician put the costs at 1.2 million euros.

40 percent subsidy is in prospect.

It should start in spring 2022.

Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller also spoke of a necessary construction measure. Brückner had already dispelled any doubts about this a year ago, which is why the city councils authorized the town hall chief to commission the further planning services without discussion. The tender for the new building runs until January. Work is scheduled to begin at the end of March.

Planner Maximilian Jakob from the engineering office ilp2 explained the process. As he explained, the new bridge could not meet the criteria for a 100-year flood either. But it should be raised as far as is technically possible. 65 centimeters higher than the current structure, it will lead over the Schlierach. The flow cross-section increases significantly. In addition, the bridge will get wider, a higher railing and a footpath one and a half meters wide. “The towing curve is also getting a little bigger,” explained Jakob. This is a relief when trucks and cars meet.

“There will be traffic disruptions during the construction period,” said Mayor Braunmiller.

If the current bridge is demolished in April, there will be no more vehicles to get through.

The traffic is diverted via the Untere Wies.

A temporary bridge is being built for pedestrians.

It is expected to be in place by mid-October.

Then the new Schopfgrabenbrücke should be finished and opened to traffic.
