Without a dissenting vote, the Peitingen municipal council decided on a supplementary budget for this year on Tuesday.

There were no major discussions, which was mainly due to a more than positive development.

Peiting

- As reported, the municipality expects significantly more business tax income this year than expected. While treasurer Christian Hollrieder assumed 4.8 million euros when the budget was approved in March, the new approach now takes into account six million euros. But even this sum still offers room for improvement. "We are currently at 8.18 million euros," said Hollrieder on Tuesday in the council meeting. However, the amount could still change due to possible repayments, the chamberlain pointed out.

Either way: The effects of the corona crisis on the economy in Peiting seem to have been overcome faster than expected after the slumps last year.

If the current result remained, the market would have even received more business tax than before the crisis.

In 2019 it was 7.7 million euros.

Reserves do not need to be attacked

The good income situation has other positive effects.

In this way, the transfer to the asset budget is secured again.

Despite the additional expenses that have now been taken into account, for example for the development of the industrial areas on Bergwerkstrasse (268,000 euros) and Ammergauerstrasse (173,000 euros), the planning costs for the new heating in the outdoor wave pool (75,000 euros), the initial equipment of the temporary day nursery groups in the Alfons Peter elementary school (25,000 euros) and the unplanned replacement of the defective heating in the girls' school (30,000 euros), the reserve of almost four million euros does not have to be attacked this year.

“We can even add 50,000 euros,” said a happy Hollrieder.

According to the treasurer, the eight additional jobs that were created in the area of kindergartens and crèches were also taken into account in the supplementary budget.

In view of the good figures presented by Hollrieder, the reactions in the local council were positive across the board.

Such a result makes every treasurer happy, said Norbert Merk (CSU), head of the district's financial administration.

The result is also proof of the good management of the board.

With this, Peiting stands out from other large communities, emphasized Merk.

Tobias Eding (SPD) was pleased that the community had managed to find so many additional staff for the daycare centers.

"It's not easy these days."

"A good thing that you can only agree to"

Franz Seidel (BVP) thought he was in the wrong movie, but in a positive way.

He has already passed some budgets.

"But I have not yet come across a supplementary budget in which the income had to be revised upwards." He is happy about the additional income, but at the same time it has to be handled with care.

"Overall, the addendum is a good thing that one can only agree with."

The rest of the committee saw it like Seidel.

The presented figures were unanimously approved.

In just six weeks, Hollrieder will again appear before the market council.

Then the budget for the coming year is on the agenda.
