When it comes to new living space, the term “redensification” is quick to come up with.

The town hall is currently examining where this would be possible in Unterföhring.

Unterföhring

- Unterföhring is growing steadily.

The municipality adjoining the northern border of the state capital is one of the most popular in the surrounding area among newcomers.

Living space is needed.

In the town hall, there is definitely potential for redensification in the area.

In the building committee, the administration presented a number of established residential areas that seem to be predestined for additional development.

A distinction is made between areas with legally binding development plans and those that are still looking virginally towards future planning.

Development plans that go back a long way go back to the early 1950s.

Plots are up to 1,600 square meters

The list of areas with redensification potential drawn up by the town hall lists a good dozen streets.

The areas in question are mostly plots that are rarely less than 500 square meters and sometimes up to 1600 square meters.

On the south side of Aschheimer Strasse and Isaraustrasse, for example, there are several areas of around 950 square meters.

Probably the largest property is on Lindenstrasse (1640 square meters).

The initiative came from the local council in January.

The administration should look for suitable areas on which development makes sense in the future and may even be necessary under certain circumstances.

After no suggestions from the parliamentary groups were made, the following streets were agreed in the town hall: Ringstraße, Siedlerstraße, Tulpenstraße, Lindenstraße, Isarauenstraße, Nelkenstraße / Rosenstraße and Aschheimer Straße (south side).

The committee added areas of Blumestrasse, Gartenstrasse and Feldstrasse to the list.

In the first quarter of the coming year, the planning association for the outer economic area of Munich will be available to answer questions about future densification in the local council.
