Abstract.
When Sylvie gives birth to her first child, at age 34, she hopes to start a stable and fulfilling family, different from the one in which she grew up with a violent mother.
But very quickly, she struggles to develop a bond with her son.
Bathing, taking walks, breastfeeding… nothing gives her the feeling of happiness that so many people have told her about.
A few years later, her companion offered her to have a second child.
She accepts, and hopes that things will fall into place with this second birth.
But nothing changes.
Sylvie's children are now 15 and 17 years old, and despite her efforts and her willingness to always be there for them, she cannot find good times with them.
In a book published last October, written by journalist Stéphanie Thomas and entitled “Mal de Mothers”, Sylvie decided to share, with other women, her regret at having become a mother.
She testifies at Amber Rosala's microphone.
