The central cultural competitions held by the National Union of Syrian Students were recently concluded at Al-Baath University in Homs, with the participation of 100 male and female students from all Syrian universities and institutes.
The head of the Culture and Information Office in the National Union of Syrian Students, Omar Al-Jabai, confirmed to SANA Youth that the competitions are the culmination of a first stage that began last year with the aim of creating a student intellectual cultural movement among university and institute youth, where about 5,000 questions were distributed to participating students without solutions to think of the solution, which leads to It creates a state of brainstorming for them and stimulates their mental and intellectual activity, knowing that the questions are automated and deal with various literary, scientific, social, intellectual and cultural aspects.
Ali Hammadi, head of the Student Union branch at Al-Baath University, said, "Cultural competitions constitute an important social situation in which students from all governorates get to know each other, which creates a state of affection and competition between them."
Muhammad Sweid, a member of the Cultural Committee of the National Union and supervisor of the competition, pointed out the importance of gathering students from all Syrian universities with the aim of spreading culture on a large scale among them through an information program in which students are divided into teams.
Student Akram Tahan from Damascus said, “The competition is an opportunity for university students to meet and gain knowledge and information,” while student Lynn Sulaiti from Lattakia expressed her happiness with this enthusiastic and cultural student meeting, which gave them a lot of information.
Student Rawan Tafesh from Homs stressed the importance of this gathering of students from all Syrian universities and in various scientific and literary specializations, while student Abi Kassua from As-Suwayda explained that the competition is a unique social case at the level of Syria through the benefit that we gain as university students, while the student Muhammad Rajab from Aleppo saw that the competition Expanding knowledge and cultural perceptions in all fields.
The ranking of the winning teams in the competitions was as follows: The University of Aleppo, the second, Tishreen University, and the third, Damascus University branch in Sweida.
