The Culture Pass is expanding.
In a decree published on November 6, the Ministry of Culture announced that it would open access to this device to minors over the age of fifteen.
Purchase of tickets for cinemas and shows, books, musical instruments or records, but also for music or drawing lessons, a multitude of cultural practices are possible thanks to this pass.
The decree specifies that it applies
“to young people of school age in the national territory from the 4th to the final year.
The system includes an individual part, for young people aged fifteen to seventeen, and a collective part, which can be used in the school context, for the benefit of middle school students from the fourth grade and high school students. "

First tested in five departments since February 2019, the relative success of the operation has for a time cast doubts on the executive, which finally opted for a democratization of the Culture Pass.

Manga, the big winner of the operation
First amounting to 500 euros during the test phase, the government is now offering 300 euros to young French people, after noting that only 150 euros were spent on average by the beneficiaries.
Minors will also be able to use the dedicated mobile application and consume the 300 euros credited to it each year as they wish.
The sum is cumulative over the years, but must be consumed in full by the majority of the individual, under penalty of losing his credit.

Since last May and its generalization to all 18-year-olds, 782,000 young people have downloaded the application which allows them to use the Culture Pass.
