The American company, SpaceX, announced that the company's Crew Dragon capsule had landed safely in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida yesterday, at the end of a NASA science mission.
Reuters reported that the capsule, a Dragon with four astronauts on board, called "Endeavor", landed by four parachutes at sea after a return trip through the Earth's atmosphere broadcast live by "NASA" via the Internet.
The spacecraft, operating independently, began its eight-hour return trip earlier yesterday with a 90-minute flyby of the space station, where the crew took a series of survey images of the orbital center while orbiting the planet at an altitude of about 400 km, then proceeded with a series of maneuvers throughout the day to approach the ground before finally descending during the night.
It is noteworthy that the mission lasted six months on board the International Space Station, and included a trip back to Earth, which lasted for a whole day.
