For the second year in a row, the Free Voters (FW) want to ensure that all community residents have a gift under the Christmas tree, regardless of their financial situation, under the motto “Emmeringer gift Emmeringer”.
Emmering chairwoman Monika Aumiller explains how the campaign works.
What is the “Christmas wish helper” campaign all about?
At Christmas in particular, everyone should be able to look forward to a present under the Christmas tree.
Unfortunately, for various reasons, some fellow citizens are unable to fulfill a Christmas wish for themselves or their children.
On the other hand, there is a lot of helpfulness among the citizens.
With the “Christmas wish helpers” campaign, the FW Emmering would like to bring donors and recipients together anonymously.
Who can make a wish, and which wishes are fulfilled?

We don't want to dictate exactly who is entitled to have a wish granted.
Anyone who, for whatever reason, for example illness, unemployment, coronavirus, short-time work, low earnings or a pension, is unable to fulfill a Christmas wish for themselves or their children can get in touch.
But we don't check it, we trust the honesty of the people.
One wish worth 40 euros can be fulfilled per person.
How was the campaign received last year?
We had an overwhelming response.
The willingness of the Emmeringers to make themselves available as a sponsor was so great that more than 100 wishes could have been fulfilled.
In contrast, there were only 15 wish lists in the wish box.
What's changing this year?
Based on the experiences of last year, not only children, but all Emmeringers who have difficulties fulfilling a wish themselves are allowed to submit a wish list this year.
This can then be downloaded from the Internet at www.fw-emmering.de and then filled in.
From now until November 26th, the notes can be dropped anonymously in a red box on the Auto Heilbrunner site, Brucker Straße 15, or sent by email to christkind@fw-emmering.de.
And how do those willing to donate find out about the wishes?
Between November 29th and December 3rd, the wishes are hanging on the Christmas tree at Auto Heilbrunner during opening hours and can be picked up there by the donors.
The Christmas wrapped gifts should then be handed in to the Theobald Arbeitsschutz store in Neufeldweg 11 by December 15th.
There they can then be picked up by the recipient on December 20th and 21st.
