At about 8 am today (9th), the police received a report that a truck caught fire in the tunnel from the Cheung Tsing Tunnel to the airport in Tsing Yi. Firemen responded to the report and put out the fire afterwards.
Affected by the fire, the Cheung Tsing Tunnel was closed to the airport. By 9 o'clock, the center line and express line of the site had been reopened.
The Transport Department stated at 9:16 in the morning that the slow lane of the Cheung Tsing Tunnel (towards the airport) was still closed due to a vehicle fire.
Motorists can only use express lanes and center lanes.
The car at Cheung Tsing Tunnel (towards the airport) has reached Tsing Kwai Highway near Lai King Station. Traffic is congested.
