At carnival hall events, North Rhine-Westphalia wants to introduce a binding "3Gplus" rule nationwide as a minimum protection. This means that only vaccinated, recovered or people with certain negative corona tests are admitted, explained the new North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) on Tuesday. Either a rapid test that is no longer than six hours old or a PCR test that is no longer than 24 hours old is possible.

Düsseldorf - "In this way we create a bit more security even in places where you could not bring yourself to voluntary regulations," said Wüst.

With a view to the start of the carnival on November 11th (Thursday), Düsseldorf and Cologne, as carnival strongholds, have already decided to limit public celebrations to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered (2G), said Wüst.

He welcomes that very much.

In general, the state is currently examining nationwide 2G rules in the leisure sector, as they already apply in other countries.
