Currently, more people in this country are infected with the virus than ever since the beginning of the pandemic.
On Monday morning (November 8), the nationwide seven-day incidence rose to a new record.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value as 201.1.
In addition, 15,513 new infections were reported within one day - a very high value for a Sunday.
Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the RKI has registered a total of 4,782,546 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany.
For the most part, people without a full corona vaccination were infected.
But vaccination breakthroughs also occur time and again.
In its new weekly management report, the RKI writes of "a total of 145,185 probable vaccination breakthroughs".

In relation to the number of vaccine doses administered, vaccination breakthroughs occurred most frequently after vaccination with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Corona in Germany: 2.7 million people have received booster vaccinations
According to the RKI figures from Saturday (November 6th) around 2.7 million people in Germany have received a so-called booster vaccination. "Boosters should become the rule, not the exception," said the acting Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) on Thursday (November 4th) after the conference of health ministers. Six months after the second vaccination and with a view to the upcoming autumn and winter, a booster vaccination would make sense for everyone, explained Spahn.
According to the numbers on the RKI vaccination dashboard from Monday morning, 67.1 percent of the total population in Germany is fully vaccinated.
69.7 percent received at least one dose of vaccine.
"The RKI assumes that the actual vaccination rate is up to five percentage points higher than indicated on the vaccination dashboard," however, it says in a note.
