A journey with the world of the short story, through which the writer Nour Nadim Omran took a literary journey in which she approached in her style and themes her environment and her people through five collections of stories published so far.

Regarding her beginnings in the story, Nour explained to the SANA cultural publication that she published her first collection in 1997 in children’s literature (Haya Nour) and in very short stories entitled (From the Memory of Roses) in the late nineties of the last century and won prizes in youth literary festivals at the level of Syria and the Arab world to be classified by the writer The Palestinian, Talaat Saqeriq, is included in an encyclopedic book on Arab women writers, despite her young age at the time.

The story flashes written by Nour sought to be flowing with beauty and innate talent and the ability to control writing tools and employ them to serve the creative situation and participated in the first conferences for the art of the very short story in Syria before this literary art was broadcast in our cultural circles.

Nour, who has worked for years in the media, stresses the need for a journalist to distinguish between a journalistic story and a short story when practicing literature, especially with common features that unite them.

Nour continued to publish her product on the pages of Syrian and Arab magazines and newspapers, to return with a new collection entitled (The Pain Before Departure) in 2018, issued by Arwad Publishing House, bearing a picture of the work of the late Syrian artist Heshon, which she dedicated to his soul on the sixth anniversary of his death.

Nour sought to carry in this group a poetic revelation, human values ​​and intense emotion, to imitate the characters of the group and shorten the narration time to convince readers of the truthfulness and importance of what she writes, noting that the writer Laila Makdisi, who was presented to the group, expressed her astonishment for the modern style of drawing realistic human paintings that touched the soul and mind The reader and made him a partner in the events and responsible for their course.

As for her group (Tashkeel), whose cover was decorated with the painting of the man of peace by the Syrian plastic artist Smouqan, Nour indicated that she sought, through this group, to present her humanitarian and aesthetic message that she started a long time ago and centered on the Syrian man with his pain, ambitions, brokenness and love through realistic models of his life and feelings to be a major part in the story .

Nour wrote "Tashkeel" stories across different time periods, starting in the late nineties to the middle of last year, from different Syrian governorates in which Nour resided throughout her life.

(Love in the Time of Corona) was the last of Nour’s story collections and was published by Dar Arwad in Tartous in 2021, and its cover carried a painting by the plastic artist Hiam Salman. This includes wars, displacement, and cultural or age differences.

The writer Nour points out that this collection has received the attention of critics and readers, and the writer Riyad Tabra considered it promising for new horizons for the future of the Syrian short story, starting with its title, which in his opinion bears intertextuality with the international novel of Marques, which prompted many to read and explore the collection, especially after showing a short film based on the story that was presented. The group bore its title.

In addition to the short story, the writer presented a number of theatrical texts for the children's theater and won a number of awards and was translated into French and English to be presented within the activities of the Ministries of Education and Culture.

And the printing press now has its first poetry edition, which it will announce at the beginning of the new year.
