María Amparo Casar, executive president of the organization Mexicanos Contra la Corrupción y la Impunidad, believes that the only current government official who took the fight against corruption seriously was Santiago Nieto, who recently resigned as head of the Unit for Financial Intelligence of the Ministry of Finance.
Casar believes that the new head of this unit, Pablo Gómez, has a long parliamentary career but zero experience in a position of that level.
