The Turkish authorities announced today that 21 people have escaped from the building that collapsed in Malatya province, eastern Turkey, yesterday.
"Search and rescue operations in the collapsed Malatya building have ended," Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Twitter.
Deputy Interior Minister Ismail Catakli said that 13 people were pulled alive from under the rubble by rescuers, while 8 others managed to extricate themselves.
And media outlets reported that the reasons for the collapse are not yet known.
