The 2G rule, which has been in force in many areas of public life in Bavaria since today, hits your family hard.

The youngest daughter in particular is desperate.

Haimhausen

- How do you explain to your child that in a few weeks' time they will be almost completely excluded from social life - and that only because it is their birthday? Susanne K. has also asked herself this question in the past few days. The 49-year-old chemist, who prefers not to disclose her full name in order to protect her children, lives with her husband and their two eleven and 14 year old daughters in Haimhausen in the Dachau district. The younger daughter, Maya **, will have her birthday in a few weeks, then she will be twelve. But the girl can't look forward to her birthday. The reason is the current Corona regulation of the Bavarian state government.

The hospital traffic light in Free State has been red since Monday, November 8th. Over 600 Covid * patients are in intensive care units across the country, and the trend is rising.

Therefore, a stricter 2G rule now applies throughout Bavaria.

This means that many public places can only be visited by people who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or have already recovered from it.

The regulation primarily affects leisure facilities such as swimming pools, sports halls and cinemas, but restaurant operators and hoteliers can also opt for a 2G rule in their business.

2G rule in Bavaria hits young people hard: Mother in a rage - "My child has been crying for three days"

Maya is a swimmer. A very good one. The girl, who has been part of the Bavarian national squad since June, currently trains six times a week with the Prinz Eugen sports club in Munich. During the two lockdowns, Maya sat on dry land for months. Now the same fate threatens her again. “Even if she gets her first vaccination on the day of her birthday, it will take at least five weeks for complete immunization,” the mother calculates. Five weeks in which everything that is fun for Maya disappears again. “I have a child at home who has been crying for three days because it is so scared that it will now be thrown out again. How am I supposed to convey to my daughter that Söder has simply forgotten her? "

For the age group of 12 to 17 year olds, the Stiko vaccination recommendation has only been in effect since August. Most young people are still unvaccinated, so all activities for which a 2G rule now applies have become impossible for them. The only exception: leisure activities that a child does, such as a sport or playing an instrument, are still allowed (an overview of the rules). Health Minister Klaus Holetschek announced this on Tuesday at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Söder. This transitional regulation is to last until the end of the year for the time being. Maya won't turn twelve until December. It is unclear whether she will still be allowed to swim unvaccinated in January. However, they and from now on all other 12 to 17 year olds will be excluded from all the other activities mentioned above.

Even in the places where the 3G-Plus rule applies, i.e. where you can enter even with a negative PCR test result, it becomes difficult for the young people, because a PCR test costs around 80 euros.

A sum that many families cannot simply pay several times a week.

"That is the family policy of this country", sums up Susanne K. She sounds bitter.

Children and young people in Bavaria suffer from the 2G Corona regulation

She would have liked to have her daughter vaccinated earlier so that the vaccination protection could develop completely by Maya's twelfth birthday, said K. But no doctor had acted against the Stiko recommendation and wanted to vaccinate her eleven-year-old daughter. “And that, although they vaccinate even younger children in the USA.” Weeks ago she asked the state government and the Federal Ministry of Health how things should go on in the case of the many young people affected and whether it is not possible, including younger ones Having children vaccinated already, says K. But her inquiries went unanswered. For the mother an intolerable condition: "It also affects my health and my strength to see my daughter suffer so much."

Corona measures in Bavaria lead to the 2G rule: Mother railed against Söder - "That is illegal"

Susanne K. does not want to let that rest. “All these children are suddenly people of the last class from their 12th birthday, without social rights and without fun,” she complains. Above all, the fact that the regulations in Bavaria affect children even harder than in other federal states, is angry with Susanne K. In Bavaria, for example, the children would have had to wait a long time to be able to do sports together again. Swimming pools that would only be used as training pools would have remained closed as leisure facilities. At the beginning of October there was the first judgment that the tougher restrictions in Bavaria during the two lockdowns were inadmissible and disproportionate. "And now Söder is doing the same thing again," said K. "That is illegal," she says.

Susanne K's older daughter is vaccinated, but many of her friends are not. She can understand all parents who do not want to make this decision for their children, says K., but then the children should not be excluded pro forma from society. Your hope that the state government would find a solution for the young people that also offers them prospects outside of school, such as a transitional year that would allow the children enough time to be vaccinated, is not after the cabinet meeting of the Bavarian state government on Tuesday become more likely. “How should my child learn to trust this state? Where's the thanks for everything you have endured so far? ”Susanne K. cannot muster up any sympathy for the decisions of the state government."My children are about to come home from school and ask if there's anything new," says K. "And then I have to tell them: No, you've been forgotten again."
