The possible harbinger of another hotel project juts into the sky of Bad Wiessee on Hirschbergstrasse.

It is the display frame for the Barefoot Hotel, behind which actor Til Schweiger is the licensor.

Local councilors, representatives of the district office and neighbors will get an idea of it tomorrow.

Bad Wiessee - Barefoot means barefoot. You don't have to be barefoot here, but the expression still stands for a special kind of feel-good hotel, with a high relaxation factor, casualness and lifestyle - according to the taste of Til Schweiger. The prominent actor and filmmaker is the licensor for the barefoot hotels operated by the Rostock Arcona Hotel & Resorts Group. The project on Wiesseer Hirschbergstrasse is to be one of 20 barefoot hotels that Til Schweiger is planning in Europe over the next 13 years - from the Baltic Sea, across the Alps and all the way to Mallorca. In April, Til Schweiger and his partners surprised not only with the signing of a long-term lease agreement for the 7,000 square meter property, but also with the design by the Munich architect Christof Lampadius for a four-star hotel with 105 rooms, spa, gym, rooftop restaurant, shop and more. The local council should deal with it in July. However, because it became clear in advance that too many questions were still open, the planners initially withdrew the application. The municipality should have granted exemptions from the local building regulations on several points.

Scaffolding for part of Schweiger's Barefoot Hotel: Scaffolding shows the current state of planning

The huge display scaffolding, which is now on Hirschbergstrasse and will be examined by local councils, representatives of the district administration and all interested neighbors from 4 p.m. tomorrow, is a request of the local council. "It shows the current status of the planning," explains building authority manager Anton Bammer. Bammer notes that it is unusual for the revised building application to be submitted afterwards. Even if everyone meets in advance for an on-site visit at the display scaffolding: The hotel project will not be an issue at the subsequent (hybrid) meeting in the town hall. Not even in the non-public part, as Bammer assures. The building application will probably not be on the agenda until December. It remains to be seen whether the committee is ready to adapt the current development plan, which specifies the framework conditions.

The project was even developed on the basis of this development plan. It is worth taking a look at the past here: the property was built on for the first time in 1932 - with the Quellenhof health resort. A children's hospital followed, closed in 1977 and demolished seven years later. This was followed by the planning of a three-story sports hotel, which was based on the then already existing and then only slightly adapted development plan, as well as a slimmed-down version of the sports hotel.

The fact that Til Schweiger and the Arcona Group were able to be pulled ashore is also thanks to the project developer Rainer Leidecker, who had the sports hotel planned.

Leidecker is part of a company structure that is behind the project: The owner of the property is therefore Tegernsee Living GmbH & Co.KG with its three partners: Tegernseer Grund Projektmanagement GmbH with Rainer Leidecker, a Munich private family and those also based in Tegernsee Springwater Group.

Project developer for Barefoot Hotel: "Scaffolding is part of the requirements"

Rainer Leidecker expressed himself quite reluctantly in the run-up to the on-site visit.

He doesn't want to cause irritation and just says this much: “We had the scaffolding built, that's part of the demands.

Another exciting project is waiting for Bad Wiessee.

Rumors that part of Schweiger might have withdrawn from the project have turned out to be false.

Rather, it is said on the network, the barefoot license for the hotel on Timmendorfer Strand has expired and will not be extended.

The developers of the Wiesse project are convinced: "The hotel will have a positive impact on the place."
