All Advent markets have been canceled, around the Tegernsee and in the entire district.

This decision was made yesterday, Wednesday, at a video conference of all mayors convened by District Administrator Olaf von Löwis.

Tegernseer Tal - This became apparent last week when the incidence gave the district a sad top spot.

But in view of the importance of the Advent markets for the Tegernsee valley, those responsible waited before the cancellation.

"It hurts," says Thomas Baumgartner as spokesman for Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT).

But the corona situation requires stringent and consistent action.

Appeal of the mayor to refrain from private individual events

Thus not only the Advent markets are canceled, the mayors also call for private substitute events to be refrained from.

The cancellation of the markets affects not only the stand operators, who manufacture for Advent all year round, but also the hotels and guest houses.

In the years before Corona, the TTT succeeded in attracting many overnight guests in an otherwise weak time through the magic of Advent.

The radio station Bayern1 recently mentioned the Tegernsee markets next to the Nuremberg Christmas market, reports Baumgartner: "You can see the success there."
