The federal government flew 329 people out of Afghanistan on Wednesday with its first own charter flight. A spokeswoman for the Federal Foreign Office said that the flight started at noon in Afghanistan with the destination Doha. These are local workers and those in need of protection, including their relatives. The federal government would like to thank Qatar for their help in making the flight possible. Qatar is currently organizing very limited operations at the airport in Kabul. A spokesman for the Federal Ministry of Defense said that 13 Afghan air traffic controllers had also been added to the list of local staff. An examination of their contracts for work and services had shown that, within the scope of the discretion, they were regular employment contracts.

Four weeks ago, an evacuation flight with 219 people from Afghanistan landed in Germany.

The machine started in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The people who were flown out were former members of the Bundeswehr and other institutions, as well as other Afghans who had received an acceptance letter for humanitarian reasons.

Since the radical Islamic Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, the German government has been trying to get people out of the country by land and by flights who either worked for German agencies or who are classified as particularly in need of protection.
