Just a few years ago, vacuum cleaner robots were one of the most important cleaning accessories in any home.
Users gave them nicknames and invested thousands of shekels in their purchase.
Since the success of manual and cordless vacuum cleaners, especially those of Dyson, the feeling that vacuum cleaner robots are getting secondary importance in home maintenance.
Robot makers have to put a lot of effort into appealing to consumers, who want to keep the floor dust-free, without having to walk around with a manual and cordless vacuum cleaner in all rooms.
Ecovacs, which offers successful pumping products, launched the Deebot T9 a few months ago.
This is a model that competes less in the category of cheap robots, but in the higher categories, when it combines different technologies, which make the cleaning work friendly and clean.
Control and application: Deebot T9 - successful mapping of the home
The control of the Deebot T9 is basically only done through the app, although there is a physical button to operate on the robot itself, which I did not really touch.
The company's app comes in an interface in Hebrew and it allows directly from its home page to perform automatic cleaning of the entire house or return the robot to the docking station with a single click of a button.
This solution is suitable when you want to send the robot for cleaning and there is no time to mess with the app, but once you enter the main launch page of the app you discover all the smart options, like mapping the house, which is done automatically after initial activation of the Deebot T9.
The mapping itself allows you to forgo general cleaning of all the rooms in the house and only focus on certain areas.
The app also allows you to edit the map or define areas that the robot will not enter.
It is very convenient, that you do not want the robot to accidentally wash a carpet or enter a messy area.
It is also possible to track the location of the robot in the app almost in real time, there is a delay of a second or two and also see by marking where it has already worked.
Ecovacs also offers three-dimensional mapping of the house, it allows to build a map that includes an indication of the existing furniture in the house.
I had no desire to start producing such a map, which seems to require a lot of effort.
It would be nice if this option was done automatically.
After all, if I bought a vacuum cleaner robot, it means I'm lazy to sweep the house myself and it also means I'm lazy in producing maps.
Beyond the map, you can determine how many times the robot will go over each cleaning area (once or twice), the suction power, there are 4 levels: quiet, normal, maximum and maximum plus.
The standard option is relatively quiet, when I used it or at maximum.
It is also possible to determine the amount of water that the robot will release during rinsing and even decide whether it will disperse a pleasant odor using the air diffuser installed in it.
In general, this is a simple-to-use robot, but there are still minor bugs in Hebrew.
Cleaning: Deebot T9 - Wet wiping and light perfume
One of the important things in a vacuum cleaner robot is that it will perform the cleaning and it will not bother me that it will get stuck in things at home.
The Deebot T9 combines TrueDetect 3D 2.0 technology with laser technology and special cameras, so it can work without problems even in completely dark rooms and it easily detects objects without getting stuck in them.
One of the things I liked, is his ability to spot the cables that are on the floor and not insist on getting on them and getting involved with them.
Instead, it will simply bypass the cable and give up cleaning the area closest to it.
The robot also has the ability to detect dog feces, I have not tried this option, but if your pet produces such a hazard, the Deebot T9 will probably not smear it on the floor.
Overall, the Deebot T9 cleaned the house well thanks to a strong suction power of 3000Pa.
The Deebot T9 is very efficient, it knows how to focus on different and dirty areas, as soon as it detects a foot of a chair or table, it will rotate around, it feels the need to increase the suction power, for example, it rises on a rug and then you can also hear how it invests More in cleaning.
It also includes the option of wet cleaning, using disposable cloths and an internal water tank.
In order to perform the wet wiping successfully and scrape as many things as possible that have stuck to the floor, the robot produces a vibration motion to the wiper, which moves back and forth.
This is a better solution, than a robot that passes with the wet cloth, but does not actually rub the floor.
The Deebot T9 features 2 side brushes, which help it catch dirt on both sides of it, this is in addition to the brush at the bottom.
This brush knows how to handle the collection of dirt well, but it is also a magnet for hairs, which get tangled on it and need to be cut every now and then.
Ecovacs has integrated an odor diffuser inside its vacuum cleaner (using a small capsule that needs to be repurchased each time, about every two months).
Although I set the scent scatter to the highest, the scent was not really felt.
The inner dust tank can be emptied easily and if you do not want to perform this operation often, you can purchase for a separate fee (about NIS 1,000), a docking station where the robot will be emptied.
This is a container that includes a disposable 2.5 liter bag, so you will only have to throw it in the trash when it fills up (about every 30 days).
In terms of working time, the battery provides 175 minutes of use, I did not encounter a situation where the robot at all was close to draining the battery.

Bottom line, there is no doubt that the Deebot T9 is a very successful solution for cleaning the house, both in terms of suction power, both in the mapping ability and in the solution that allows it, not to get involved with objects thrown on the floor.
