Thorsten Latzel, President of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland, congratulated his Westphalian counterpart, Annette Kurschus, on being elected President of the Council.
Kurschus was elected on Wednesday at the Synod of the Evangelical Church of Germany (EKD) in Bremen.
Düsseldorf / Bremen - "With you, the EKD has elected a clever theologian, a sensitive pastor and a far-sighted church politician as its chairman," says Latzel, according to the announcement.
This is a great benefit for the Evangelical Church in Germany as a whole, as well as for the Rhenish-Westphalian regional churches.
