Memmingen - After a long break due to corona, the board elections and a complete reorganization of the board determined the picture at this year's annual general meeting of the Christian Town Hall Block (CRB).

In compliance with the applicable Corona rules, the meeting started with the election of the meeting leader Thomas Mayer and the greeting of all members present as well as the subsequent mandatory reading of the minutes of the last annual general meeting. The following annual report referred again to the previous city council election as well as its effects on the CRB and the conclusions to be drawn. Looking back at the few possible events from the second half of 2020 or 2021, Thomas Mayer switched to the parliamentary group's report and gave the floor to the parliamentary group's chairman, Helmuth Barth.

In his remarks, Barth pointed out the collective work of the parliamentary group, showed the successes in the form of the applications and the work of the meetings and praised the commitment of his colleagues Uwe Rohrbeck, Bastian Dörr and Toni Demirci.

Daniela Thiel then gave a lecture on her work as a women's representative and pointed out that the proportion of women who are actively involved in politics must increase again within the CRB.

A report by the treasurer, who was able to present a positive cash situation, corresponding to a year of non-election, the revision by the cash auditor and a résumé by Thomas Mayer ended the part of the report.

The discharge of the board of directors was then unanimously.

The subsequent election of the board finally gave the CRB new heads in many positions, who see it as their goal to build on the successful work of past years and both to strengthen the political image as well as to demonstrate a clear political presence in Memmingen.

With the new, unanimously elected chairman Thomas Mayer, an experienced member of the board moves to the executive chair, replacing Christoph Steinlehner, who is no longer running for election. The three deputy posts have also been filled. While Daniela Thiel already has experience as a women's representative, Manfred Schweizer and Norbert Stadler are completely new to the board. Both of them bring with them prior knowledge, both from their professional and voluntary work, to qualify for this position. To complete the picture, Stefan Schreiber was re-elected as treasurer and Andreas Kurz as secretary, while Daniela Thiel remains the women's representative.

The next few weeks are to be shaped by the intensive exchange between the board members and with the newly elected advisory board in order to be able to plan the activities for the coming years in a targeted manner and to ensure their implementation.

Among other things, the focus should be placed on in-depth communication with the citizens in order to adequately translate their ideas into political goals and to be able to be a reliable and connected political representative for their wishes, according to the CRB.
