Today, the People’s Assembly’s Budget and Accounts Committee discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources and its affiliates for 2022, amounting to 85 billion Syrian pounds.
In their interventions, the members of the committee focused on the need to find an automated mechanism for distributing oil derivatives that the fuel sub-committees in the governorates adhere to to ensure fair distribution, in addition to expediting the distribution of heating oil and giving priority to cold areas as much as possible.
The members called for studying the possibility of distributing domestic gas based on the number of family members, supporting renewable energy projects, and increasing agricultural diesel allocations for the success of agricultural plans, in addition to giving more importance to the issue of training and rehabilitation, and increasing the rates of implementation of projects implemented by institutions and companies affiliated with the ministry, especially those related to the livelihood of citizens.
In response to the questions of the members of the committee between the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, that finding a mechanism for diesel requests requires large software operations that are difficult to program, stressing that there are software expansion contracts to avoid abuses, and there is a strategy to organize the support process, indicating that the ministry is working with maximum What can you do to secure diesel, despite the lack of supplies and the difficulty of securing foreign exchange.
Minister Tohme confirmed that there are studies for the use of renewable energies in the oil industry, pointing out that the ministry has a plan to automate the movement of tanks and means of transportation to reduce the phenomenon of corruption and organize work.
