Bad Tölz / Wolfratshausen

- Due to the rapidly increasing number of corona cases, the Asklepios City Clinic in Bad Tölz is now postponing planned inpatient treatments and operations.

A decision on this should also be made at the district clinic in Wolfratshausen as soon as possible.

Follow the situation carefully, so you can hear from there.

Postponement of surgery in Tölzer Klinik: Each individual case is weighed up

For the Tölzer hospital, spokesman Christopher Horn announced the move on Wednesday. The procedure only applies to cases in which the postponement is “medically justifiable” and “without negative effects for the patient” is possible. This is carefully considered in each individual case. Clinic managing director Felix Rauschek emphasizes: "The patients and their relatives can rest assured." Affected patients would be informed in good time. “Treatments that cannot be postponed will continue to be carried out.” Of course, emergencies would be dealt with regularly around the clock. "Outpatient operations continue to take place, and regular consultation appointments can be made."

According to Horn, the Tölzer hospital currently cares for the most corona patients of all clinics in the Oberland rescue service area, which includes Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, the districts of Weilheim-Schongau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen: 29, four of them in the intensive care unit.

Separate areas have been set up for this purpose.

In Asklepios-Klinik Bad Tölz one observes: Even younger people have a real risk of getting seriously ill with Covid

For data protection reasons, no information can be given about the respective vaccination status of the individual Covid patients, explains Rauschek.

He makes it clear, however, that the vast majority of them are unvaccinated or not completely vaccinated.

The clinic observed that even younger people without vaccination would have a “real risk” of “getting very seriously ill”.

According to Rauschek, Covid patients were also given inpatient care with full vaccination protection.

"Vaccination breakthroughs in fully vaccinated patients with severe courses are still very rare and mainly affect patients whose immune system is weakened by chemotherapy or long-term cortisone treatment or who are older than 80 years," said the head of the clinic.

"We urgently appeal to all citizens to get vaccinated."

The 3G plus rule applies to outpatients at the city clinic

In general, visits to the City Clinic and the Wolfratshausen District Clinic have been prohibited since Wednesday.

Exceptions are possible, but require special permission from the treating doctor.

From Monday, November 15, the 3G plus rule will also apply to patients who come to the hospital for an outpatient appointment, an indication consultation or to prepare for an inpatient stay.

So anyone who is not fully vaccinated or recovered needs an up-to-date PCR test.
