The General Company for Iron and Steel Products in Hama recorded sales of 63 billion and 265 million pounds during the first ten months of this year.
Engineer Abdel Nasser Mishaan, director of the company, explained to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the achieved sales resulted from marketing a quantity of 26,784 tons of billet, which is the raw material for the production of rebar, pointing out that the company’s production amounted to 28,733 tons of billet iron of various types, which contributes to providing the needs of the public and private sectors in the current stage. Mishaan indicated that the company is working within a feasible economic policy whose slogan is to increase production to the greatest extent, reduce costs to the lowest level, and dispense with imports through the application of effective guiding systems and programs. Mishaan noted the achievement of the company's oxygen plant workers, who were able to operate the modern oxygen plant based on local expertise, which saved millions of pounds from the wages of foreign expertise and a production capacity of about 2500 cubic meters per hour, pointing out that the production of oxygen gas secures the requirements of the production process of the company's iron smelting plant in addition. To sell the surplus pure oxygen in the local market, especially for public and private hospitals, and for industrial and medical uses, 24 hours a day.
