You can find out what this means for vacation planning here.

In Bavaria *, the hospital traffic lights have been deciding which corona measures apply since October 6th.

This is based on the utilization of the intensive care beds.

On November 9th, it reached the red level - which means that more than 600 Covid-19 patients have to be cared for in the Bavarian intensive care units.

For this reason, stricter corona measures apply again in the state, which you should consider when planning your vacation.

Holidays in Bavaria: 3G + in hotels and restaurants

In principle,

hotels and other accommodation providers as well as restaurants can

remain open, but the

3G + rule

applies to access

. So if you want to stay in a tourist accommodation in Bavaria or visit a restaurant, you must either provide evidence of a complete vaccination, recovery or a

negative PCR test

. The cheaper antigen rapid tests are no longer sufficient.

For people who have to take a test, it also applies that it must be presented on arrival and every 72 hours, as stated on the website of the Bavarian State Ministry.

However, operators can

voluntarily introduce the 2G rule

, which only allows access to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.

Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the obligation to test.

Minors over 12 years of age who regularly carry out tests at the school are temporarily admitted to 2G until December 31, in order to be able to vaccinate themselves during this time.
