Memmingen - In June 2021, Memmingen successfully qualified for the 2nd application phase of the Bavarian State Garden Show 2028 to 2032.
The task now is to develop a coherent overall concept by April in which, among other things, the intended uses, new path connections and green areas of the planned LGS are to be presented in concrete terms.
Since August, the UKL landscape architecture firm has been giving a lot of thought to the city administration offices involved.
The future LGS core area, unlike in application phase 1, is to be compressed more and concentrated south-west of the city, between the ice rink and powder mill square.
Starting from the area, the state horticultural show will continue to broadcast in the direction of “Monte Schutto”, Stadtgraben and Buxach Valley.
In addition to strengthening the Memmingen green system, the aim of these areas is to further develop and consolidate the connections and cohesion of the city.
Citizens' opinion is required
With public participation, the city wants to present the current results and work status to interested parties and enter into a dialogue with them.
In this way, wishes and suggestions, but also concerns, should be heard and incorporated into the further process.
Specifically, the citizens should say: What do they particularly like?
What do you dislike about the concept or the area?
Where do you see further potential in terms of area, but also in terms of content?
And where do you see problems?
Anyone who is interested in the further development of the city, who is familiar with the area through their living or working location, is invited to participate in the public participation, which will take place on Wednesday, November 24th, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of the Vöhlin-Gymnasium (Kaisergraben 21, 87700 Memmingen) takes place.
