The Americans have Black Friday, the Chinese have Bachelors Day and Israel has ShoppingIL - the Israeli shopping holiday that also falls in November.
The event - which is supported by Google, the Ministry of Economy, the Israel Manufacturers' Association, the Histadrut, and the ZAP website - is intended to give consumers priority over receiving information about Israeli businesses that offer the promotions and discounts, thus promoting blue-and-white products.
According to the 2020 experience, it definitely works.
Manufacturers who attended the event last year reported an increase of more than 300% in visits to their websites during the event days, and an increase of over 60% in their sales volume compared to the previous year's event.
One reason for this is Google's help, which as part of the event preparation provides business owners with tools, programs and training, to help them improve their digital tools.
The "Zap" company also contributes its share to the success of the event and operates a dedicated specials arena at no cost, which presents surfers with more than 40,000 products at special discounts.
The promotions arena flows traffic to businesses of surfers looking for products on sale and thus helps businesses increase sales during the shopping event.

This year 2,721 stores will participate in the celebration.
The businesses come from the fields of fashion, animals, sports, transportation and jewelry, among others.
One of the most sought-after categories is electrical products, in which 194 stores take part, including Gold Line, Electric Giant, Electric Lounge and Avi Super.
