A day of action will take place in Freising and Moosburg under the motto “Korbi dahoam”.
District
- There will be no central youth basketball party in Freising this year due to the corona.
However, under the motto “Korbi dahoam”, many parishes and groups in the area of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising have agreed to organize decentralized events for young people on Saturday, November 13th.
In the district, the young people in Freising and Moosburg are invited to take part in joint youth activities and to celebrate the festive service in Freising Cathedral via live stream.
Archbishop not there due to corona infection
However, one person will not be there: Archbishop Reinhard Cardinal Marx.
Despite having been vaccinated twice, he was infected with corona and is in quarantine at home.

Jonas Eder has been parish assistant in the Stadtkirche Freising since September and has organized a station for the 79th youth basketball in the cathedral city on Saturday: In the parish home of St. Lantpert in Lerchenfeld there is a lot for children and young people on Saturday from 4 p.m. (admission: 3 p.m.) From ten years of age offered: At 4 p.m., the festival service in the cathedral will be celebrated via live stream.
Then the young people have the opportunity to take advantage of various handicrafts, games and music offers.
The day of action ends with the closing impulse at 8.15 p.m. (until around 9 p.m.).
Creative offers in the Moosburger Pfarrheim
In Moosburg, the team around Marion Kraus, religious teacher in the church service, organized the offers - based on the suggestions made by the archdiocese.
In the Moosburger Pfarrheim, young people aged 14 and over can get creative after the live stream service and, for example, make a wallet out of a chocolate pack, design prayer flags, make beeswax cloths and much more.
Kraus: "I think it's good that not everything is digital"
For Kraus, who used to take part in the night pilgrimages on foot for the basketball youth, this new format is "unusual" - but a great alternative in the current situation.
“I think it's good that not everything is digital,” says Kraus.
“Such an event lives from the community.
It's just nicer on site. ”And so all teenagers are invited to take part:“ If you feel like it, you're welcome to come. ”

As early as tomorrow, Thursday, all those interested will have the opportunity to go on a pilgrimage and learn more about Saint Korbinian: In the city of three roses, according to Kraus, posters with a QR code will be hung on it. The audio file behind the code can be listened to via mobile phone. There are a total of seven stations in Moosburg - the start is at the portal of the Kastulusmünster. According to the guidelines of the Bavarian Youth Association, "Korbi dahoam" is an "extracurricular event that may take place under 3G", says Claudia Hoffmann, Public Relations Officer of the Archbishop's Youth Welfare Office in Munich and Freising in an FT interview.
Parents only have to fill out a data protection and corona form on Saturday.
