The nomination period for the General Election of the Legislative Council ends on Friday (12th). The former Director of Investment Promotion, Lu Weisi, signed up for the election committee sector today (10th). He said that he was running as an independent candidate. After going through difficult times, I hope to help Hong Kong develop through my own experience.

Lu Weisi participated in the "Six Nine" parade two years ago to oppose the amendment of the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance. He stated that he had explained in a column why he took to the streets and emphasized that the election was to prevent similar mistakes from happening.

Lu Weisi said that he participated in the election as an independent candidate. He believes that Hong Kong has experienced difficult times in the past few years and hopes to help Hong Kong develop through his own experience.

Lu Weisi also pointed out that the Legislative Council has been polarized and fragmented in the past. If he succeeds in entering the Council, he will continue to uphold the spirit of right and wrong and point out the right or wrong of the government.

Lu Weisi said that a total of 13 nominations have been obtained, of which 3 nominations in the first sector are from Europeans, Indians and Chinese, which proves that Hong Kong is a diverse city.

When asked whether he has a foreign residency or a passport, Lu Weisi pointed out that he gave up his foreign nationality earlier than Sheng Zhiwen. He emphasized that he has a "three-star" ID card and a SAR passport. He also said that he can return to the mainland to visit his children and grandchildren through a home visit permit. .

As for whether the Liaison Office of the Central Committee gave him a "green light", he said that if he was "lighted up", he would not appear in the Political Consultative Conference today and sign up for the election.
