For the last three days of the nomination period for the general election of the Legislative Council, Tian Beichen, the current member of the New Territories West and the actual political round table, signed up to run for the Northwest New Territories Direct Election.
The geographical constituency of the new Legislative Council has been rezoned from five districts to ten districts. Tian Beichen used to use Tsuen Wan as his base camp and served as a district councilor in that district. The northwestern New Territories he ran for this time only covers Tuen Mun and part of the Yuen Long district. Excluding Tsuen Wan District.
Tian Beichen pointed out that after the constituency was redrawn, a choice must be made. He also pointed out that the Northwest New Territories was chosen because there will be four new railways in the area, including the Tuen Mun South Extension Line and the Northern Link. He hopes that relevant issues can be followed up in the future.

Tian Beichen emphasized that he was not abandoning the supporters of Tsuen Wan. He believed that New Northwest was still his original constituency. It was just that after perfecting the system, the New Territories West constituency changed from one to two: "I thought I could split the two districts and choose both districts? Say no, you can only choose one district, so it's so decided." He also revealed that the Real Political Roundtable intends to send Zhuang Haofeng for the election. He is currently seeking nomination, and he has not explained his proposed constituency.
